November 11, 1918

The armistice of November 11, 1918 imposed a cease-fire at 11 a.m., putting an end to the fighting of the First World War. It is signed in the clearing of Rethondes near Compiègne.
Peace will then be concluded with the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919.
