Figurine Poilu 1916

Resin figurine presenting the Bleu Horizon uniform of the French army in 1916.

Horizon Blue is a blend of white, dark blue and light blue wool that was used in particular to alleviate the shortage of supplies of German chemical dyes.
He quickly became the symbol of the Poilu of the First World War.
The Adrian helmet adopted in 1915 completes the uniform of the French soldier.
In total, nearly twenty million helmets were manufactured during the war and the following models would take the form of the Adrian helmet until after the Second World War, forging in the collective imagination the silhouette so characteristic of the Poilu.
