If Alexandre LOFI is one of the 1038 Companions of the Liberation, one of "? this exceptional knighthood, created at the most serious moment of the history of France", according to the words of General de Gaulle, founder and Grand Master of the Order, he is also one of these discreet heroes, whom the breath of history has left unknown to the great majority of the French. He is the soul of the former members of the 1st BFMC (Battalion of Marine Commando Fusiliers) who left everything behind in 1940 to go to England, to continue the fight and to form this elite corps whose consecration will be his participation in the D-Day and Normandy campaign, as n°2 of the KIEFFER commando. From 1948 onwards and until he left the army, he served in the French Navy. This book is the first to be dedicated to him, and this publication, based on numerous unpublished sources, provides a wealth of information that will satisfy, in particular, history buffs, our soldiers, including our marine fusiliers and members of the special forces, of which he was one of the precursors. It is also of particular topicality, the extraordinary career of Alexandre Lofi representing a reference for some of our young people in search of meaning and equal opportunities.
